Kool Country is a brand new Country radio service for the UK. Born from a love of both radio and Country music, Kool Country’s mantra is to deliver US Style Country Radio to the UK.
Rod Archer: Rod is the moving force behind Kool Country. A radio presenter on a variety of stations over the last 13 years, Rod has been heard at all times of day from waking you up at Breakfast to talking to you at the end of the day on the late show. Not only is Rod our Breakfast Host, he is also the CEO of Kool Country and the Head of Music, so he is the one to blame/love over our choice of music. Over the years he has spoken to a multitude of Country stars including LeAnn Rimes, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town, oh and he’s also spent a pretty cool day in the company of Phil Vassar. He recorded his first radio show in his bedroom aged 8 using a tape recorder and a radiogram, my how things have changed!

Who is the most interesting person you have ever met or spoken to? That’s a tricky one as I’ve been fortunate to meet and speak to so many amazing people, I think the nicest person I’ve ever spoken to would be Carrie Underwood, the most inspiring would be Phil Vassar but the most interesting, simply because of all the tales he could tell was George Hamilton IV.
If you were having a dinner party which three guests would you invite? Another tricky one, you’d need someone for entertainment, someone for glamour and someone to spark a debate, so on that basis Miranda Lambert, the Dalai Lama and Toby Keith, but I’m not saying which one is which!
Chris Green: Chris is the creative talent behind the sound you hear, he is our Head of Production and Imaging and has created the “sound” of Kool Country.
What is your favourite colour? Red to go with the colour of my favourite football team! Manchester United of course!
What is your favourite food? I do like a good Sunday Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding!
What TV show would you never miss? Dog The Bounty Hunter / Dog & Beth : On The Hunt, I think I have seen every single episode at least twice!
What is the last book you read? Where Mercy Is Shown, Mercy Is Given by Duane “Dog” Chapman, as you can tell I’m a BIG Dog The Bounty Hunter Fan
Who is the most interesting person you have ever met or spoken to? Gabrielle, I was lucky to be in a room with her, she asked what my favourite song of her’s was, and she sang a sample of it whilst we stood chatting.
If you were having a dinner party which three guests would you invite? Sir Alex Ferguson, Pete Waterman & Rick Astley, growing up to the cheesy 80’s sound and being a massive Rick Astley fan, I think I’d have plenty to talk about!
